I'm thinking of getting B&B route 66 exhaust cat-back. I would like to install myself. Can this be done on jack stands or is this one of those things that should to be done on a lift?

If you can safely get the car about 36" in the air to get the stock exhaust off in one piece, then yes, you can do it yourself. If you don't mind cutting the stock exhaust to get it off, you won't have to get the car that far in the air.

bubye,
Getting the stock system off is the hardest part of the job and is the easiest on a lift however like these guys have already said it can be done on jack stands as long as you get it high enough. If you don't care about keeping the stock system you can cut it and make the job that much easier.
If you let me know your email address I can shoot you a copy of the install instructions to review.

I just installed a XSPower cat back, I did it on my lift which I'm sure made much easier but I don't see why you couldn't do it off jack stands.
FYI I needed to take off the rear sway bar in order to get the original out in one piece and also to get the new one in.
This is probably redundant by now, but to get the factory peices out without cutting them you need a lift or have get the car at least 36" off the ground. If you intend to cut the originals off then jack stands are fine because the new system is in smaller pieces. By the way, when I installed my TI's I used a lift and the whole job took 40 minutes.
I just received my new Bullets and will be taking my B & B Route 66
set-up off probably in a few weeks. It is in excellent shape.
I haven't thought of a price yet because I was going to wait to see what the Bullets sounded like.
Let me know if your interested and maybe we can do buisness.

You are going to love the bullets. I find myself staying in the lower gears a little longer than necessary just to hear it. Screaming loud at high rpms. Just barely audible at cruising speed. Reminds of the sidepipes screaming on my 72 454.
