Default extended warranties

I'd like to know the general concensus about GM Major Guard extended warranties. I'm on my second one on my '02 but I'm on my first ext. warranty on my '04, expires June. I haven't contacted Fichtner yet but I called a local Chevy dealer and it cost $2855 for a 3 year and $50 deductible, which is really outrageous to me. I think I've replaced two leaking rear seals with the ext. war., so I'm wondering if it's worth it. I normally never buy warranties on appliances and such;so what do you guys think?

If you buy from Gene cully or Dennis Fichtner you can't go wrong. The GMPP Major Guard is the best warranty out there. But you have to renew the warranty three months before the one you have runs out. (Yeah they'll send you the difference in a check) but don't wait too long, the GMPP is the only warranty worth the paper it's written on. all the others are a petcock on your bank account. Junk warranty, doesn't even cover the effort to print it out.

I've got the GMPP warranty on mine and while I haven't had to use it yet, the peace of mind knowing that should something go wrong I'm covered is worth it. Unfortunately, my current extension is the last one I can get on my car.

If you own a C5 and can still get the GM warranty, BUY IT !!!!!!!!!
Don't pass go, don't collect $200.... It's something I would give my left nut to have on my 18k mile 98, if for no other reason, all the discontinued computers and other high $$$ parts that are not available anywhere except the local junk yard....

Tough call at that price and a deductible.
Mine expires in September and I am thrilled to have had it so far.
I'm assuming you plan on keeping the car for a while?
Shop around.
I'll put a call into the shop where I bought my original one and let you know if they have a good deal.
At the right price I would extend mine.

GMPP doesn't list Florida in their states list. Is Florida excluded by GMPP?

I believe they have changed the three month requirement to one. But don't take my word on it. I'd double check to be sure.
I know you can do a lot better than $2800!

My GMPP runs out on my 02Z next month. As always,my time runs out way before the miles will.

If I could get another GMPP warranty I would......seems they don't do any cars older than 04's now.

I decided not to get the 2nd extended warranty on my '04 and it is now finished. The warranty on my '02 will be finished the end of July and I can't get a 3rd time on it(44,000 Miles). So whatever goes wrong will come out of my pocket.

Hope u have big pockets! i have my vette 4 years and have been charged close to 10,000 in repairs most of which was labor. If u can change your own leaky butt seals and rear axls and EBCM's YOU'LL SAVE ALOT. luckey for me it was all covered under warrenty....these vettes all seem to have the same problems... HOPE THE C7'S ARE BETTER MADE!
