I installed a Yank 3000.....what is the max temp the fluid can get to before I should be concerned?...I do have a trans cooler coming but may be a week or 2 before it gets installed...
My A4 temp has gone up to about 220 when I was drving up a winding mountain road. I found out that the computer will alarm you if it gets around 250. Normal driving for me, I see 200 degrees. I do have a cooling system with an electric fan.

In all reality MAX temp should not get 100* above ambient temps!
Example: 92* outside + 100* = 192* (Should not go above, this formula will help your tranny last a long time)
Thanks,Matt
(I have a Yank 3200 and with the cooler I am running it does not get above 173* on a 100* day)
My temp hit 207 yesterday after about 45 minutes of stop and go traffic. Took about 30 minutes to reach that temp but seemed to hold. Air temp was about 60.......hopefully it will stay under 200 once I get the B&M cooler on.....thanks for the responses...

I forgot to mention that I do not have the Tranny Lines going into the radiator anymore - the engine temps raise the tranny temps and visa versa.
Now some in the colder climates might need it to go into the radiator to get the temps up during the colder months but if you do not drive your Vette in the snow then you will be okay.
If you decide to use a cooler then it is recommended to run the cooler "AFTER" it comes out of the radiator before rentering the transmission.
I also removed my transmission lines from the radiator. I re-routed them to my B&M cooler. Unfortunately, I had to mount it inside the driver's side fender, behind the gill.

I usually run 90-100* above ambient but when I did 2 back to back runs up and down the Tail of the Dragon on a 75* day my temps, with a B&M cooler, hit 235*
I have noticed the trans temps getting lower each day.....I have been driving a 30 mile in town drive after work every evening to get the recommended 150 mile breakin over with....1st day the temp maxed out at 207.....2nd day 203.....3rd day 198...........ambinent temp all 3 days was 57-61......the 3rd day being the warmest..........maybe clutches breaking in explaines this?...
thats great, i just got my stall broke in. haven't launched/brake torqued it yet. cant wait till the weather gets nice to drive. lots better than stock though. did you change gears too?
If you hit 240+ you NEED to change your tranny fluid immediately if your using Dextron. If your using something like CASE you can run 240-250 and not change it right away but you will need to no more than 30 days after that run. Dextron has a 300* limit and starts to air-rate around 240-250 CASE has a 500* limit and doesn't air-rate at the "higher" temperatures (ie 240-250).
I run CASE in my tranny and it holds and responds a lot better to include the stall bites harder. Will never use Dextron again.

No, didnt do a gear change....thought about doing a 3.73 but ran out of time.....I know it would have been cost effective to do it with the TC but................I am still breaking mine in so I do not have an opinion...drives almost like stock under normal conditions...
