Another Small Callaway Mod. (pics)

This one is for "Show".
My door sill plates were stock.

I'll spare you the glue looking like Snot pic. All I can say is GM uses plenty of it to keep those thin plastic sill plates on.
With a bit of Goof Off, available at Lowe's, and a plastic putty knife, things started to roll. It takes a few applications to remove all of the old glue, I did say GM used plenty right,
and a good wipe down with rubbing alcohol. It's not a 15 minute job. I spent a good hour on each side.

There, clean and ready for the new door sills. Heating the door sill area and the underside of the new panels with a hair dryer insures a good adhesion. And here they are, new carbon fiber door sills. I also tossed in Callaway's embroidered floor mats.

Sorry some of the pics are in black & white. Camera setting got changed.

Remember. If you want to change your door sills. Take your time, make sure all the old glue is removed, clean the area with rubbing alcohol and heat the area before applying.

Now it's time to get the Callaway Double Din, DVD, Nav stereo set-up

Thanks,Matt
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

I met him about 4 years ago when I worked for a vintage/late Corvette dealership. He stopped by and I drove his personal Callaway C6 with him riding shotgun! There's a youtube video out there somewhere...
He's in red, I'm in the black shirt with the two company owners adjacent. The one to my left is searching for the free hotdogs.

After the joy ride, Reeves signed a fuel rail cover from my own '01z.
Reeves Callaway
Here's the video I just found.

I'm driving from .14 trough .30 and then Callaway (red shirt) is behind the wheel. I'm back again from .56 through the rest of the video.

One of these days I'd like to get my Vette to Old Lyme and have the final stage, Power Group 3, done. That would be the Callaway Heads & Cam. Not to mention their LeMans Brake package and Coil Overs, Wheels.
