I would not put a lot of stock in what is in Car & Driver. That design will change between now and the actual release of the C7. After all when has GM or any car company shown a new design well before the release date? I guarantee that when the C7 is ready there will be a big unveiling ceremony.

Not worth buying the mag, there is a thread in the C7 forum on this. "nvusgt" posted this scan the cover and single image of the rear. It is an artist's rendering of what it might look like, probably totally off. In fact it looks like two different designs, the rear shot being heavily based on the Transformers 2 "Sideswipe" concept car photoshopped onto a C6. I wouldn't put any stock in these...
I do think the C7 will look similar to the Tranformers Stingray. It won't have the full clamshell hood or the Lambo doors, however I expect very similar styling cues.
Hopefully the butt will be better than this rendition.
You can bet those are just concepts!! After the poor reception of the 63 split window,,I doubt there will ever be a rear window rib again. That butt would be way too problematic for production,,not to mention WAY to extreme for the mainstream market!! Lets face it,,the corvette is not aimed at the 19year old import crowd!!The car show coverage of that segment only lasted a short while on speed channel as well. Can't see GM doing that,,they are just stirring the pot!! Look for Evolution more than revolution,,just as the C6 was referred to the C5.5 for a long time!! My opinion!!
