Default Help Vette won't start

Hello All. I just came back from a month long detachment on the USS
Stennis. When I tried to fire up the vette I got nothing. I plugged in the tender and got no red light signaling the battery was charging. After doing some CF searching I disconnected and reconnected the battery with no joy. I just called my brother for a jump. Anybody know what's up?

Definately a dead battery.

I have a battery tender as well. They're really designed more to keep batteries in a charged state then they are for charging a completely dead battery.

You'll need a trickle charger to bring that battery up to a maintenance level before the battery tender can be used.

After you get your car going, use your battery tender on the car anytime you plan to have it sitting for more than a week.

Good luck.

Note: Now that the battery has been completely drained, expect that it may not last very long. Remember too that jumping the battery and driving the car will most likely not charge it fully. Sears has a great 2/10/60 automatic battery charger on sale:

You should have one around for just such emergencies. But as others have mentioned a Maintainer is good for keeping the battery topped off. If power is not available, simply disconnect the battery. Just be sure to know the stereo code if you had ever set it up to be disabled once power is cut.

How many volts do you see on the dash?

Here are some other things that will make your car not start (and feel free to ask me how I know all this):
VATS terminals in the ignition swith broken
Clutch switch broken
Anti-theft relay broken
BCM problems
Starter problems
