Default Corbeau A4 install question

I am going to install Corbeau A4's and replacing power (driver and passenger) sport seats. My question is do you have to do anything with the power connections? I thought I read someone's post that you lose the telescopic control of your steering wheel if not connected to the control module. Can anyone shed light on what I have to do and I appreciate your feedback.

I don't have the telescopic wheel but I just left the plugs undone. Everything works fine.

I don't have telescopic either. I did however save my control module that mounts under the drivers seat. I heard that if you leave that control module plugged in then you will retain your telescopic wheel. Just what I heard though....

You will need to disconnect the seat control module from your drivers side stock seat. Then plug it into the connecters running from your carpet. Leave under the new seats, and just install the new seats on top.

If you don't have the seat control module plugged in, then you will lose your telescopic steering control ability, and your seat belt warning light will not work (the default behavior for seat belt warning light is to not be showing red, so no nag button if you leave the seat control out), since both of those options are controlled by that seat control module. I initially ran without the seat control module, but decided I liked using my telescopic steering so reinstalled it. Since it's under the seat and you never see it, no big deal to have it down below.

paviesVette,

Thanks for the info. How hard is it to get the seat control module out from the stock seat?

Thanks

Not hard at all. My suggestion is unplug the seat control module from the harness running from the carpet and leaving the seat control module in the bottom of the seat.

Then remove your stock seat completely. Depending on your harness you may have 2 or more plugs to remove. Then it will be self explanatory how to get the seat control module off the bottom of the seat. Once that is done, you can replug into the harness under the seat and install the new seats. You will need to unplug the seat control module to remove the stock seat, so you are halfway there anyways.

You can see the plugs on step 4a/4b on the vette essential site here:

http://www.vetteessentials.com/instr...er_change.html

As I recall the Seat control module is simply a black box under the seat. Just follow these plugs and you'll see it.
