Bad experience with a vendor
Needed the money back asap and explained this to him and filed a dispute in hopes this would speed up the process.
Wrong idea... but I did the right thing by filing a dispute, anyone who disagrees is biast as my hard earned money should be refunded as soon as possible.
Gene finally replied and said he could not refund the payment as it was in the dispute process which is incorrect as it has not been escalated to paypal yet.
response below:
Hello Sue,
I let you know the previous evening I would take care of the order cancellation and that meant refunding your payment. You took it upon yourself to file a PayPal dispute, so at this time it is out of my hands and you must wait for the PayPal dispute to go through. Had you not filed a PayPal dispute, you’d have the funds.
Thanks,
Gene.
Poor customer service, and lost a potential long term customer.
There is a process to go through when trying to undo an order, especially when you use a 3rd party service.
It seems to me you were too impatient.
If you did file a dispute with PayPal, and I think you did, then you should check with them to see why "Gene" cannot refund your money. They will probably say something like "if you are asking us to give your money back we will take it from the vendor and return it" so "Gene" would send you your money, AND PayPal would send you your money too, as taken from his account.
You wouldn't expect to get paid twice would you?

Gene could follow the steps and refund the payment but if it ends up going to paypal my conclusion was likely right and he may just be going as slow as possible to make my situation worse
If the vendor didn't know, they sure did not put enough effort in finding out as it took me less then 2 mins to find this informaiton.
Also i did not receive that response until emailing more than once.
all i know is in the end i get my money back regardless of what they do.
Search Paypal's website
How do I issue a full refund for a dispute?
1. Log in to your PayPal account.
2. Click Resolution Center.
3. Select Open Cases from the list and find the transaction.
4. Click the Case ID in the Case column.
5. Click Issue a full refund on the case details page.
You can issue a refund within 60 days of receiving a payment. Issuing a full refund automatically closes a dispute.

I don't need a lecture for something that was outside of my control nor do you know my personal situation.
It is not at 5 days... so whats the bigger issue, spending money i shouldn't have spent due to unforseen circumstances or a vendor not doing his duty to refund a payment
Biast?
sounds like it

The Forum allows a factual post on an unresolved dispute with a vendor or another member once all efforts to resolve the issue offline have been exhausted. Then, the post must be factual and cannot be used to bash the vendor or the member. Once the post has been made, it cannot be repeated in other sections or on other days.
Moderators will try to leave such threads open until everybody with direct knowledge of the issue being addressed has had a chance to provide their version of the facts. The thread must not become a running debate on the accuracy of the “facts” and may not deteriorate into an exchange of personal attacks. Neither should be used as an opportunity for speculation by those who do not have direct knowledge of the issue.
Once there has been the opportunity for the facts on all sides to be posted, the thread will be locked. It will remain in the database and will be available for review by those who are researching the topic, vendor or member.
The Forum is not in a position to monitor transactions or to determine the “true facts” in most disputes. Upon request, however, the Forum will try to intervene and mediate a settlement suitable to all parties in a dispute. When issues are resolved in the matter, it will be posted to the original dispute thread so it becomes part of the searchable record. We believe that is a more useful record of performance for potential customers than would be an eBay-style rating system.
As has been our past practice, members or vendors who show a pattern of unresolved issues will be removed from Corvetteforum.com.
