Default Should I remove the MAF Screen?

I'm curious if I should remove the MAF screen from my 01 Z? I am currently running a Blackwing and carbon fiber airbridge. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Joe

Why would you want to do that?

Yes remove it. The MAF on the 02 is the same as 01 but it has no screen. I have heard 2-3HP with screen removal.

Yeah, this is something the aftermarket tuners have known for quite a while about the MAF. Take the screen out and convert the metal housing (non Z06 only) to the plastic. This makes the air flow better and reduces the amount of heat in the MAF. Cooler air makes more power.

It leans the car out a bit.

Removed mine from my 99 when I installed the 02 LS6 lid. The combination is fantastic. No issues from my 99, the car just feels much stronger.
