Humour me, I am coming from the C3 area and have never owned a C5. In the back of my mind I seem to remember C5s with smallish (3"?) round but very intense driving lamps behind the grilles. I do not know if they are factory or aftermarket but they were very bright in daylight, a significant safety feature considering the low driving profile of both older and newer Corvette generations. Am I having a senior moment? Or does anyone know what I am talking about? If they exist I would like to adapt a pair on my 1974 convertible this spring. The vertical grille mount brackets near the front licence plate make for an easy installation.
I believe you are thinking of the stock fog lights.
Beautiful car by the way
Yes!! And those must be different from the DRLs on the outside lamps I believe. Or perhaps you do not have DRLs in the USA? They have been mandated here since 1989.
Are there aftermarket versions of those? I would imagine GM would be $$$s.

Thanks for the comments on my 37-year-old car.
The DRLs are the corner lights, I changed my DRLs out for LEDs and I put HIDs in the Fogs, so they are brighter than stock.
As far as picking a set up you may have some luck in the parts section, I have seen some guys changing their fogs out for aftermarket ones so I imagine there may be some in there for a reasonable price.
Well I did some homework. Those fog lights run about $200.00 each without relays and wiring. I can get a complete retro aftermarket kit for about $50.00 complete with all hardware and wiring (e.g. Pilot, Hella). So....
