i dont mind helping ya bud but either b&M which ive had in both my C5Z&C6Z but i think my next car i may try MGW shifter i heard there very nice. oh and every other company is basically horrible hahaha
MTI six shooter. Really like. It's the middle of the road of all the aftermarket shifters. Not too notchy, yet precise. Not as buttery smooth as C6. Gives you a good "thunk" when engaging gears. Also not too expensive.
Go to steve @ RSD's web site. Check out the Snap Shifter. www.racespecialtydesign.com.
They sell a nice short throw, angled shifter.
They use a 2009 + C/6 Z06 shifter & box w/a modified shaft length, which is angled instead of straight & the shaft is threaded to fit the stock style C/5 shifter ***** = (9/16-18)
Try it. You'll like it!
Good luck.
MGW for me, didn't try any other. The precision and finish of the product is incredible, the installation disc they provide is also dead on. They advertise a 35% or so shorter shift, it will require more effort but the shifts are very precise. The centering spring is incredible, no more having to "search" for 3rd from 2nd, you just push forward with the web of your right hand and it's there.
Some have had trouble getting into reverse but I think it's a minor thing.
One thing though, make sure you re-align the shifter box after you install a shifter. A search on RPM Transmission website will show you how to do that and right after a shifter install is the best time to do it.
Toughest part about the install is probably going to be removing the stock shifter ****.
