Default CCW Wheels Question

The plastic inserts, center caps, do they come out without removing the wheel. It look like it is two pieces, the inner large hub, and the insert with CCW on it. There faded and I would like to replace them.

I have never removed my center caps. I would think that if you removed your wheel and poked at the center cap from the inside you could get them to come off. It would be less risk of damaging them trying to remove them from the frontside.

I know they must come off because we had an option when we got them new .... CCW center caps, or no logo caps.

You have to remove them from the inside. I placed the wooden end of a rubber mallet on the inside surface and hit the opposite end with my hand to pop it off.

OK, thanks to all. I was hopping not to have to remove the wheels first.

Never tried while the wheels were on but when I take them off to polish them I can just push it out with my fingers with a little gentle pressure.

My 3 year old 505a's have a 1 piece aluminum center cap, not plastic.

You should be able to pop them off without removing the wheel. I replaced mine with the billet version a few years ago and didn't remove my wheels to do it.

That's the way I would do it - no sense risking scratching the wheel by trying from the outside.
