Default Help? Question, what is this called?

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/ctd/2268056391.html

So there is a very good chance I will be buying this car in 2 days, but I have a dilemma. What the hell...is the thing in the front bumper that usually has the corvette logo called? I can't find them for sale to save my life, and I sure as hell am not putting a license plate there lol. Also...random but this car's e-brake was a bit..messed up. The button was popped out a bit and when you pulled it up or moved it there was 0 resistance, is this a common problem? Guy at the dealership said it would be taken care of by the time i'm back, but just curious. Other than that, this car is sexy

The front cover plate is missing is all. Ecklers and several other companies carry them. The broken parking brake is not all that uncommon. I just finished installing a new one.

Front license filler or cover - try search of C-5 parts, usually a couple for sale - maybe you'll find a black one. Good luck w/the Z

That's good news...yeah I've read up a little bit on c5 parking brakes pretty much being awful in general but wasn't sure about this specific issue. Hope that thing will be mine as long as the carfax looks clean! I'll look up Ecklers and see if I can find one then...hope its not too expensive, have to paint it too probaly. Thanks!

More than likely they will never repair that emergency brake to
work properly.
Would be a perfect time to have them fix it properly before you give them any serious money or sign the final papers.
That in the front center is where you would normally screw the
l/plate to.
If no need for a front plate, have them get you the unit that fits in there & have them paint it.
If they tell you that they cannot get one from GM any more, have them take $200. off the price & take care of it yourself.
Good luck.

Yeah the guy at the dealership is actually a really cool guy (weird) and has become friends with my dad (asking my dad for advice on starting an import/export business), random as crap but hey i'm not complaining its getting us a better price. I'm calling him tomorrow and going to make sure he'll have the carfax ready on Wednesday morning for us and that the e-brake will definitely be fixed. I found one for $165 unpainted which is meh but hey better than an ugly license plate

Shop around man. There's a website that sells em for 70 bucks unpainted. I can't remember the name but I was about to buy one before I hit a dog and got one for free. Just do a google search for C5 Corvette liscense plate filler, or something like that.

by the way that sounds like a lot to pay for that Z06.

around $20,000 is closer to what it is worth.

The only sex ed in my education was self taught, eventually with the willing help of a female. Strange anatomical words in Latin didn't have the same power to hold my attention. That aside, I fail to see it as a particularly clever user name. Sorry to all giggly teenagers out there.

That's all right, kid. It's nice to have new blood on the forum. I'll bet you're happy that Corvettes are so cheap and plentiful that even teenagers can afford 10 year old ones.
