Default Attention Vert Guys, New Mod Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am doing alot of things to my car this spring to get ready for shows and just some fast fun. Installing a Novi 2k, RPM Level 6 A4 Trans, SS3200 stall, 3.42's and new leather interior.

I am having the rear lower facia painted black and I had an idea of painting the waterfall and the deck behind the headrests black as well. What I mean is the black weatherstrip that the top sits on, all that and down the waterfall. Coupe guys paint the halo so I thought vert guys would paint this part of there car. With the top down, I thinks it would look really classy to paint this area black with to show the cockpit of the C5 better. I am also putting in seat hoops and nice new black/oak seats. I have never seen this done to a vert. When the top is up, you would not see it from the outside of the car, but when the top is down, you would see a nice black wrap around interior that would blend into the dash, doors, waterfall and the center councel. Has anyone done this, or thought about doing this. I am going to do it, am I crazy. Please give me your input, I expect a lot of "no's" but are there some that would say yes. I wish I could see some pics if this has ever been done before. Thanks for all input on this subject!

Something you might consider doing, if you haven't already done so, is take a pic of the area of the car that you are considering painting, and then see if someone can photoshop the area black like you want. Then you would have a better idea of what it would turn out like.

Then post the photoshopped pic up - might help us give a better opinion.

Here is a pic of the area he is talking about, with the cover up. It would blend that weather strip in,however I like the way the cover and waterfall become part of the exterior with the top down. It would be different. Somebody must have a picture with top down.

Do it in a vinyl wrap to see if you like it. Can always be removed if you don't.

I'm 50/50 on it. I would have to see it first. I think on your yellow vert if you do paint it you would have to paint the lower rear bumper which you are doing. Maybe even paint the lower front bumper like Quik01 did in this thread. Just the lower part not around the fog lights. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...-stuff-15.html

With those 3 piece painted I think it would give your car a total different look. As long as you have some black accent pieces on the car I think it would turn out good.

Can't wait to see pictures. If you paint the waterfall make sure you buy a yellow flag emblem to replace it. That would give it a good look. Black and yellow..

You must be a Steelers Fan. lol

Or use the Plasti-Dip that a lot of guys have used on the lower rear fascia. That will give you an idea and if you don't like it, just peel it off!

Post pics if you do it. I've never seen it done before.

i would certainly want to see it photoshopped to get a really good idea as to whether or not i would like it. in addition, my opinion is that if it flys, it would probably be on lighter colored bodies. my CE is le mans blue and i don't believe there would be anything aesthetically improved with something like that. i seriously doubt i would care for it, but that's just my opinion.

I agree with srs244, I think it would probably look better on your MY as opposed to my Mag Red. And a lot of great suggestions on how to test the look. It's your car tho and if you like it, go for it

So the whole tonneau cover going forward?
A photo shop is DEFINITELY in order as I'd be surprised if this looks good.
You never know though.

Should be an easy photoshop to get done
