Are contractors a menace?
On the way through Colorado last year, a contractor's truck loaded with tar was traveling at 80 mph, spraying everyone he passed with tar. It took weeks to remove all the tar from our truck and 5th wheel. Today a contractor's truck pulling a rental concrete mixer was doing 55 mph in the slow lane, spraying everyone that got close to him in both lanes with cement. If you stayed behind him, you would be doing 55 mph or less, and if you stayed in the left lane, you would have to pass him or get run over by the cars in the fast lane.
Only good thing, is that we were in the wife's car and not the Vette.

I was following a flat bed years ago that was dropping the rolls of tar off the deck. Thess things had to be 50 lbs at least. I started flashing my high beams trying to get him to stop. We ended up passing a cruiser that had someone pulled over. I flashed the lights again after that and he finally pulled over I suspect thinging I was the cop. The scary part is one of the rolls very nearly hit the cop! The driver was completely oblivious and didn't really seem to care.

I cringe every time I come up on a dump truck or some truck carrying a large piece of construction equipment. Too many chances for something to come flying off and hitting up against the car.

Most of them are working for a hourly wage and could give a damn about your Vette. Minimum wage usually gets minimum effort. AND if anything happens on the clock, it ain't coming out of their pocket.
