i have a 2000 conv. when the traction control is on and you brake torque the car, it has a flutter and will not build any rpm. when the traction control is off the car is like it should be, and with the car in comp mode it has the flutter and will not build any rpms. this is a 15k mile car that is perfect and didnt ever do this before. i just changed the tire and wheel and went to the 17/18 chrome deep dish c5 wheel thats for sale on the forum. could this have anythimg to do with it? any input will be appreciated!

Well! It is working correctly then!
The Vette has to have it "ALL" turned "OFF" in order to do a doulbe foot (Brake and one on the gas) burnout.
That is the only way to do it - I would suggest not doing that too often - you will eventually tear up the tranny and the brakes
Get a Line Loc from Steve @ RSD in order to do it correctly.
Thanks,Matt

Reason: fix word "correctly"
i have 4 of these cars. 2 2000s and 1 2001 and 1 2002 all convertible cars. the only one that does this is the 15k mile 2000 model. i have owned several of these including coupes and z06 and never ran into this! corvette were made to run not just sit and look pretty! thanks guys

His 2001 and 2002 must have active handling. It was standard equipment beginning in 2001 where it was an option between 1997 and 2000.
My bad, did not pay attention
I never really tried to power brake my automatic vettes because of the couplers always being on the weak side.
Unless you're really in drag racing, you can grab yourself a cheap line lock and see if that helps any or elsewise beef up the tranny and install a trans-brake.

What rear gear are you running? [2.73 or 3.15]. My 99 coupe with 3.15s will smoke the tires easy without power breaking it at all [slow rolling start]. My first 97 auto coupe had 2.73s and you had to power break it to do a burnout. [until I put the 3.42s in]
Dave
2 of the cars have 2.73 and other 2 have 3.15. they all will roast the tires from dead stop or from a roll. i have all paper work including window sticker and build sheet for this car and it does have the 500.00 active handling. the problem is when this car is in competitive mode it flutters like the traction control is on! none of my other cars do this thats why im confused about this. not sure if i have 1 car with a problem or 3 with a problem
