I have the T1 coupled with a MAFT. The MAFT seems to have found a bit more power than just the T1 by itself. I will have dyno numbers in the next month or so.
You are referring to the AFRC or the AFR1 from Halltech, BTW.
I have the T1 - Sidewinder and AFR1 on my 2001. I cannot really tell you the difference because I did not dyno before and after the AFR1 install. I will tell you that the T1 will give you lean codes, which is why I purchased the AFR1. I am also waiting on headers, so I will be able to adjust the A/F if needed. Good luck!
Forgive me if I am wrong, but I cannot see how installing an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator will cure a real lean situation. Increasing the fuel pressure will just cause the car to see a richer mixture at the O2 sensors and the car will probably reduce the injector on time. If the car really thought it was lean while running with the stock fuel pressure I would think that the PCM would just increase the injector on time.
I think that the lean situation should be cured by reprogramming the PCM.
it's not an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator. it is an Air, Fuel Ratio adjuster, and yes it does correct the problem.
Yes, the MAFT will work for all intakes, you are able to dial in you Air/Fuel Ratios. Of course you will need a good scan tool, I use Autotap and have had great results.

Re: Halltech T1 Question... (y2kylwc5)
AutoTap is about $290. I could not find the MAFT at LAPD, but exit28 has it for about $200. I cannot see how you could use a MAFT or AFR without AutoTap.
Yes your right there is no way of tuning with out Autotap, which is why I am interested. What I did in the interm is set the AFR1 to the default settings.
Thanks again. My interest is really on the Autotap, but I have read nothing but great things on the MAFT on this and other forums. I purchased the Halltech and installed it in the armrest, by lenghtening the wiring, so that I could adjust it from inside the car. This is the main reason that I got the AFR1. I read that the MAFT has to be installed under the hood.
Yup! Although I did I did not have to drill into the firewall. I used the passage that was already there behind the battery. I ran the wires underneath the carpet up to center console. I did drill a hole on the interior side of the console to feed the wires. It came out really good, better than I thought. I did a write up on it and posted it in the Z06 section.
