Default Anybody buying vinyl?

Taking a look at this deal on vinyl covers. They're a third the cost of leather.

http://www.corvettemods.com/servlet/...sh-Tone/Detail

They look great in the pictures, but I'm really scared of buying some vinyl instead of leather. Sure don't want something that looks cheap.

Has anyone bought these and tried them?

You gotta go with the Leather. I just wouldn't feel right putting vinyl in a Corvette.

I have put synthetic leathers in a vette. they look and wear better than real leather does, doesn't crack up and dry out.

I would personally stay away from actual vinyl though, but that's just me.

It's a budget option for Vette owners -

With today's Vinyl's you cant feel or even see the difference, usually the only person who would know is you, whomever helped you install the covers(If anyone did) and the reciept (store) - an most of the time more durable

Call them talk with them and see what a return policy might be so when they show up "IF" you do not like them you can return them and get others.

Some Vette owners barely use their Vette's anyway so Vinyl is "NOT" a option, but ones who are on a budget a high quality Vinyl will be just right a 1/2 the cost!

Many might flame you for getting vinyl, so I suggest that should you get vinyl just slap them on post the pics and see what everyone says HONESTLY! - Won't even know the diff!

Don't over extend yourself becuase of what everyone else says, if I did that I would have a blown C6 with an LS7 in it with 1200 RWHP instead but true!

Thanks,Matt

leather looks and feels like leather.

anyone driving a corvette should be able to tell the difference.

Are these real vinyl or actually synthetic leather?

I agree with Matt though, don't let others dictate your budget. But of course you did ask!

Maybe I'm missing something.

What's the difference between "synthetic leather" and vinyl?

See if the vendor can send you a sample of the vinyl material - then you can compare to the leather you already have. I've not seen any C5s that I know of that have the vinyl covers, but if you are on a budget, it might be a good option.

Well, the 'leather' that comes in vettes is crappy as well if you compare it to the leather being used in Audi's, BMW's, Porsche etc.

So if the vinyl looks good... why not.

Raymond

Corvette leather is known for it's Chevy Vega lifespan. They must look for cheap cows that look old and cracked just standing on their hoofs in the pasture. Honestly, thinking you got quality leather in a Vette is just nuts!
