Why doesn't it allow comments. While I am death on most of their products I am also willing to give new ones a fair test. Is this a new advertising policy on the forum? This product looks fantastic and if it performs even close to the video should receive many positives

If it works as good as it appears to,I can drive right through those large "honey puddles",instead of going around them.
Honey stuck on my wheels has always bugged the crap out of me...
because for some reason on this forum, unless you are on certian bandwagons. your stuff disappears or gets locked.
Perhaps because other vendors pay money to promote their products on the forum, the mods don't allow free advertising.
Mentioning a product, service, vendor, etc. is usually OK, however posting a video touting performance, etc. might cause the thread to be locked.
Armor All is OK. I used to use the stuff when I was young when I was limted to the products sold at the local Auto supply stores, however this forum and other auto enthusiast web sites have educated me on better products.
Do you know how much other products are displayed and talked about? I can go back a week and I bet I would find at least 20 threads.
I understand where your coming from. Like if someone posted in a vendors thread about another companies product. But thats ridiculous.
So we cant talk about half the tires, or oil, etc. People were talking up 303 in my armor all thread. that didnt locked. (because most people like 303)

I think 303 discussions/videos have been allowed because it is a product carried by a supporting vendor - AutoGeek. (I just checked their website and did not see Armor All as a product they carry. They usually chime in with a link to the product, etc. I'm sure there is a business reason why the mods have an issue with Armor All.
my argument was that someone on here has to at least carry armor all....could be wrong though! haha. still think that somewhat stinks. (cant talk about stuff if its not carried by a vendor)
makes it hard to learn about new or different stuff
I have a good friend who is a painter at his dads body shop. Has done it for many years. He hates Armor All! He says if you get ANY trace of it on something that will need to be painted later, it will cause problems. Even after sanding and cleaning a body panel. Says the same thing about silicone spray. I was told to use silicone on rubber seals a long time ago by a body shop friend when I was in my 20's. Been doing it ever since and it does help make the seals around doors and trunk and convertible top look and last better.
I don't plan on getting things painted but you never know....anybody else have knowledge about any of this?

Silicone is great for seals. Either have a rag to the side of the seal to prevent getting on a painted surface, or just heavy spray on a rag and whipe them. Use to do this at the dealership shop i worked in for awhile.

I never heard that before. I can't imagine Armor All, or any other protectorant, having that strong of a chemical mix to penetrate all the layers that even a wet sanding in preparation for new paint could not remove. However, I'm not a pro painter.
As mentioned, I did use Armor All when I was younger mostly on my IROC Camaro and Thunderbird SC. I never had any type of negative reaction and both cars were well-maintained. When I sold them, both interiors still looked new as a result.
I just grew tired of the shiny look and the smell and eventually learned about better products over the years.
