Most of the shows I go to have classes for stock and modified coupes, verts, etc. I have entered mine in the stock coupe class in the past, but since adding a bunch more mods, I have a feeling I will be placed in the modified class from now on. We'll see Saturday if the weather holds up and I go to a local show.
I'd probably just do the usual "Show and Shine" class. I go to a lot of shows and meets, but I rarely see C5's unless it's strictly American cars at the show.

In most shows I have attended they are divided into the following: C1, C2, C3, etc... Classifications: modified, or stock. Around here, modified is described as any 3 changes made to the car that differs from what was produced from the factory. If there are not enough vette participating, then all we judged together.
I have particpated in several hundred car shows over the past eight years and have found that the "Classes" vary according to the sponsor of the event and the type of 'Judging'. Some will allow a targa top coupe to enter the convertible class - some will not. More often than not it is usually dependent on the number of cars entered in the show and each class on that particular day. I have also found that most corvette owners will not compete against other corvette owners, either due to club affiliations or personal friendships. To help avoid judging confusion and not wanting to possibly offend anyone that I do not know, I usually compete in the "Open Car" class. That usually diffuses most potential problems and places the Chip-on-the-Shoulder, 'Wanna Be' types on notice that I'm here and willing to take them on.The bottom line is to have fun, make new friends and not take yourself or your car too seriously - That way everyone wins in the end. GOOD LUCK and GOD SPEED!

Are you going to be at Columbia this weekend? Hopefully the rain will stay away.

i prefer the "open" class should the show even have classes. i avoid corvette only events (for participation), and most of the time, i write "do not judge" on my window card. i'm there to enjoy the day and hang out with some friends. couldn't car less about adding another trophy to the collection i've accumulated over the years with a variety of different custom cars. i know my car can win, that's no longer the point for me at this stage of my life.

I believe the weather is going to hold out, at least that's what doppler dave says. (I wonder if he's a member here?)
Anyway, 88 for the high and rain moving in late evening, possible thunder storms.
I'm not going to enter because I never do, but hope to be able to stop by at some point after I mow my 6 acres
I like the "rock chip class" and probably the "Most stress cracks" on front and rear bumper. I'm a serious competitor in those classes so bring your best "A" game. Theres also the "Best Road Gravel collection".
All the shows I have attended in the Tampa Bay area as well as other location in Florida it will depend on a few different things. First if it is strictly a Corvette show the classes are divided in the C5 gen. as 97-00 and 01-04 stock. They will also have a custom class and that is normally 53-82 and 84-11. I normally fall into the custom class due to the fact that I have an ACI front splitter, and SLP rear spoiler and engine dressed in carbon fiber as well as a few body color matched painted items. In my opinion it is more of a modified than custom, but most shows don'r go modified and custom classes. Open car show if they are big shos will have aCorvette classes while others have open lasses based on years. Again I either fall into custom or modified if they offer a modified class.
It's pretty much up to the host club to come up w/standards & classes. At the last show I entered my 03 Z06. Well come to find out later, I discovered a new ZR1 in my class. Unbelievable. And another thing - after working your tail off for days end...never come in on the tail end of entry, as 'participant voting forms' might well be added up way ahead of the cutoff for entry.
I preferNCCC classes & judging criteria. NCCC criteria divide the cars into C1-6 classes first & then divide within these classes into Modified, Concours, Street/Show and Wash/Show.
There are specific score sheets for each. Modified & Concours are usually trailered entries and are judged under the most strict guidelines. Street/Show is for street driven cars and are allowed some normal wear & tear. Wash/Show is judged the same way except the engine dept is not judged at all.
On the other classes, the engine/exterior/interior and technical inspection count for 25 points each. You can go to the NCCC website and download these forms I believe. Also I should say, under these rules the cars are judged on how clean and well prepared they are. Originality is not considered nor are blinged out cars an advantage.
Hope that helps someone decide.
