Default Largest Tire Diameters

I am looking at plus sizing my 03 coupe to 18/19, lowering with coilovers, but do not want to lose too much ground clearance, and with 18/19 you have shorter sidewalls which obviously affects ride quality.

My question is has any one tried to run a 27" tall tire on the front, and a 28" tall tire on the rear? I am considering stock C6 rims, and tire sizes would be 245/45-18 and 285/40-19 the front looks a little tight, but the rear looks possible, I also like the look of consistent side walls, so I would not use a 28" rear with a 26" front.

Thanks

Ask me how I know on this, yes both of them going over a small bridge on the interstate road. I had at least 20 pieces of fenders all over the road. Robert

The largest rear tire i have seen so far on here on stock Z06 rims was a 295/40-18 was a good look, fills the wheel well real nice and looks great when slightly lowered, the height on that tire is 27.3" I know i will get criticized for asking but we all have a look we want to acheive, so i know i am pushing the limits.

the front will work, but fitting the rear is probably not gonna happen!! I would never even consider using a set up like that! your going to lose everything a vette offers! Though you might ride like a cadillac!!!

The side wall height when you move from 18 to 19 from stock 275/40-18 which is 110mm or about 4.3" and 285/40-19 which is 114mm or about 4.5" so the side wall height on a 19 would look similar to the side wall on a 18 just fills the wheel well little more.

I don't think your understanding how high your vette is going to sit with a 40 series tire? on a standard 275 40 18 goodyear your looking at around 26.5 height and going to a 285 40 19 your looking at almost 28 inches in height! Thats an 1.5 inches of tire added to the rear! if you ran a 285 35 19 your rear tire size would match the height of the 275 40 18....Even if you get the tire to fit in the wheel well more than likely this will not be lowered. 35 series tire is the highest I would personally go. If you want more tire, step down to a 17 inch wheel~

So when you had this happen what tire size were you running at that time and about where was your car as far as lowering.

Thanks
