My buddy calls me last night and tells me he's caught in a hail storm and his truck is taking a pounding. Baseball size hail, he tried to get under the canopy at a gas station but it was full as other's had beaten him to the spot. He was parked right beside and EB C5 that was sitting on a dealer lot beside this gas station. Long story short the storm stopped and he made it home with a jacked up truck, just about every panel took a beating.
I go over there today to help him with his jeep and man his truck is sad. Looks like some one took a hammer and went all over it. Anyways we decided to ride out to where he was last night and see the cars on the lot. Absolutely amazing, these are iphone pics and don't really show the extent but you'll get the idea. Probably 30 cars on the lot and they were all jacked up except 2. Cars ranged from Jeeps to a Benz 500, and they were all heavily damaged minus 2 C5's. Wish I coulda taken more pics but phone was about dead.
GM takes alot of grief for the "cheap" body panels on a vette, but they hold up. 1 of the vettes had the side marker knocked loose. You would swear these cars weren't exposed during the storm but I know the EB C5 was cuz my friend was parked beside it and the sidemarker. Anyways here's the pics.
Damn i know if small hail was coming(yet big enough to dent) i would pull my truck in the garage and put the Vette outside. It'd have to be pretty big to dent the fiberglass
