Just (finally) put on my new hankook V12's in 18/19 yesterday and the difference is unbelievable.
Within 100 yards I was almost wondering if something was wrong it was so smooth.
I had the top up even though it was a rare good weather day here in Mass as I wanted to hear the difference. When I did the interior insulation I could immediately hear things that I never heard before. This was MORE of a difference than that!
To be fair any new tires should make a difference on any vehicle. I'd be curious to see what brand new runflats sound like compared to these.
Drove a little later with the top down and still noticed a huge difference.
Have a cheapo repair kit now I need a compressor.
So far so good.
From what I've heard from the Lexus guys, run flats have terrible ride quality and they're noisy compared to regular tires. I haven't been in a car that had run flats before.
I have had both and if run flats were not so noisy I would still have for the security of it, the nitto's are much softer and way less noise from them , will see how they wear etc.
Installed my Hankook V12's last Friday and I was blown away. The guy who mounted them told me that he gets alot of the BMW and Mini guys who almost immediately dump their runflats for conventional tires. In his opinion, runflats are complete crap. I tend to agree. It's too much of a compromise just to have the added luxury of being able to drive on a flat tire for a short distance.

Guys
I have to admit I have thought about getting away from runflats too - one of my buddies put a non runflat set of Michelins on his car and absolutely loves them.
this all changed Sat nite - coming home from a ride over to the beach I'm all alone on the highway doing about 80 and all of a sudden I hear the whomp, whomp sound for about 15 seconds - it stops and the DIC tells me the rear left tire is flat - slow down to 55 - and handling will be affected. I got home ( about 10 miles ) no problems - turns out I picked up a nail or a screw on one of my Michelin Pilot runflats. Not sure what would have happened if I had non runflats but now I will always have runflats on my Vettes.
BTW - i found that going to the Michelins from the Goodyears was a dramatic decrease in road noise and the car handles much better
I expect to get mine installed on Friday. Right now, have the awful Goodyear EMTs. Even have one already plugged. I seem to be jinxed as far as getting flats so am sticking with runflats. Nothing but postive reviews of the Michelins.
