Default eibach pro rear lowering bolt kit

Hey guys if i was to use the eibach pro lowering bolt kit for the rear of my 02 z or any other rear lowering bolt kit used to lower it farther than the stock bolts will allow, do i need to get an alignment for the rear? Or does it not apply? The car is already lowered all the way on stock bolts so i would like the rear to lose the gap that it still has I would be lowering it probably another 1-1.5" depending on the kit. Does anyone know of a good kit with a nice drop other than the pics ive seen of the eibach kit? Thanks

Not a good idea unless you like bottoming out the shocks. If you want to lower it that low and retain any sort of handling you will need to go to coilovers or drop spindles.

Yes you should get it aligned unless you like a lot of neg camber.

Oh right, forgot the original question. Technically you should get an alignment whenever anything on the suspension is touched.

Zip lowering kit... http://www.zip-corvette.com

And yes, you will need an alignment. By the way, the car will ride/handle horrible going lower than stock bolts due to shock travel being eliminated.

Is there a way of getting aftermarket shocks that are designed for the lowered suspension aside from going with an expension coilover set up? Like a set of bilstein heavy duty sport shocks? I have experience this issue in my mustang as i have used sportlines with stock shocks and the ride is horrible since the shocks have no travel, def do not want to make the same mistake twice.

I have Bilstein Sports. Some will say that they have a shorter piston but I am having trouble believing that. I lowered my car the amount the writeups on here suggested (leaving about 3 threads in the back, none in front). I drove around like that for a while and what a mess if I was actually taking a turn. I later raised it back up about .5 inch all the way around and it was a huge improvement.
