Default Tire sensor question

I have a 02 Coupe that I will be selling my stock run flats, Y2k rims and sensors. I will be putting on some BFG KDW2s and OEM C5 Z06 rims. I don't need the sensors on the car because I often check tire pressure manually when cleaning the car and also have a safety kit in the car just in case. Also many other cars I have owned never had a tire sensor program and I never had an issue.

My only worry is by taking them off and having the BFGs and Z06 rims put on will my DIC now be flashing all kinds of warnings and if so can it be tuned out or do I absolutely need the sensors? If I do need them I will just order a set and go down to ECS to have everything put on there. Thanks for the info guys.

Chris.

You will get warning messages if you leave them off and don't get it programmed out.

How would I be able to tune that out or is that a job for my good friends at ECS? Thanks for the info

Does this mess with the Active Handling system?

You can program it out, hit the reset button every time, or put in new sensors.
I just put new sensors in my new wheels with non runflats.
I think it's even more important to have the sensors now. I too keep a close eye on my tires but I want the warning the sensors provide if I get a slow leak that I'm not aware of.
Good piece of mind imo.

You can always build some dummy TPS containers out of pvc pipes and pressure them to 35 psi. Then just leave the dummy containers in the trunk and the computer will read the tire pressure sensors in the dummy container. This prevents you from having to find someone with a Tech2 willing to delete your sensors and if you ever change your mind, you wont have to have it turned back on.
