Getting ready to do my brakes. New rotors, pads and brake lines. The manual calls for Dot 3 fluid. Any particular brand? What quantity will I need to change out the brake lines and completely flush the brake system?
I need to know this also. I'm replacing my pads and rotors. I noticed you are replacing your brake lines. Is this a good practice? Should this be done every so often or are yours messed up?

The brakelines are fine. I just got a good price on a set of Russell Stainless steel lines and thought I'd upgrade.
I've used Castrol LMA brake fluid since the XXXX's, well, for a very long time. I've never had a problem...I have the brakefluid flushed every 2 years.
Silicone fluid shouldn't be used in a stock set up.
For a DD I use what I can get at an auto parts store; I have Valvoline in there now. If you're racing you'll want a higher boiling point, so consider Motul as someone already said.
Last year before I went to VIR HPDE is flushed out my old dot 3fluid and replaced it with dot 4 fluid. I used napa gold if I can remember correctly. Wow what a difference. A much harder pedal. Absolutely no fade at VIR in 2 days.
I have my brake fluid flushed with a machine that provides a complete flush. I bring 2 quarts of Castrol LMA brake fluid to have the job done. Dealers use different brands of machines but they basically work the same. The brands that I've seen are Wynn's, BG, & Valvoline.
