Default Keyless entry

The other day I had trouble with my (new to me) 99 vert. Anyway one of the things that fixed it was disconnecting the battery. Now the remote doesn't work. Strange because I have factory keyless remote on 5 other GM cars (03,01,00, 96 etc), and disconnecting the battery doesn't effect them. Untill I can get an owners manual and a 99 service manual does anybody have the sequence to reset?

If I remember right you hold down the lock and unlock buttons for five seconds (standing next to the car of course). That should resync the fob and car. They often stop working when you disconnect the car battery becuase the system uses changing codes for tighter security, both the fob and car have to "change" at the same time; when you hook up the battery again, the car code might not match the fob.

When I had to "reset" mine, you had to put the key in the ignition, turn it to on (not started), hold down the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for about 5 to 10 seconds, and the car would beep to let you know it had been reset.

Great, thanks! Holding the two buttons down did the trick.
