I cant resist having my crappy OEM top up anymore. I feel embarressed when its up cause my damn window is falling out. Well A while ago I bought a smoothline top well now Im biting the bullet and goin to take it to the body shop and get it painted. I was quoted $400-500 to do it.
Popped it on last night and got everything in place.
Cant waiiitt, its gonna look siiicck
One thing I do not like(found out last night) unless I did something wrong, the mounting brackets you install for the "j-hook" design dont allow me to put my top up. Ill check again but if anyone can help me out with that it would be greatly appreciated
I had the same issue with my window falling out. I got it back in using a fix I found on here, but it's just not the same quality as new. I have always liked the look of the Smoothline hardtop, but man are the $$$! Looking forward to seeing the finished pics!
Yea I gave up on the fix lol they're kinda expensive. I got mine for like $1560 shipped? The body shop today wrote an estimate, $555.58. I do have to say Im not happy with the quality of the top They have to spray a poly filler because there are some imperfections in it. so they had to add 4 hours of labor to it. Think I should be eligable for a discount? lol I mean for that much money on a top, shouldnt it be "ready-to-paint"?
I agree with you guys, the quality really should be there, especially for that price. Maybe Ill talk to them?Idk. I bought this top a while ago but maybe its just too late, the shop already does have it
