Default 02 tps test

I HAVE A QUESTION REGUARDING 01-04 TPMS... I REMOVED MY STOCK 17/18 WHEELS, TIRES, AND TPS AND INSTALLED 18/19 WHEELS, TIRES WITH OUT TPS....
NOW I HAVE BOUGHT A SET OF USED 03 TPS AND A NEW SET OF 18/19WHEELS. MY QUESTION WOULD BE HOW CAN I TEST THE 03 TPS BEFORE I PUT NEW TIRES ON MY NEW WHEELS?

COULD I MOUNT THE 03 TPS TO THE NEW WHEEL WITH OUT THE TIRE AND PLACE EACH WHEEL/TPS ON EACH CORNER OF THE CAR AND RE-LEARN THESE TPS TO MY CAR?

THANKS DAVID

Mark the TPS with LF RF LR RR get a strong magnet put the car into learn mode and put the magnet on each as it is called for no need to mount them first just hold them in your hand.Obviously you will get a low tire warning when done. They should be fine unless they came from a 100k+ car they last that long. It has to do more with miles than age since they sleep when parked.

Just set one of the TPS by each wheel and then take a magnet and do the programming sequence for each sensor. Each one should cause the horn to honk when the programming is successful. Then just mark which sensor goes with which wheel and when you install in the wheel/tire, be sure you know what wheel goes on what location.

BTW - I don't think he meant to say that the TPS were manufactured in '03 but that they were from an '03 car. At least that's the way I read it. But I could be wrong - if so and the sensors are the original ones in an '03, then yes, I would agree with Mr. Bill - go ahead and replace them before mounting in the new wheels.

I just programed my new ones and marked them which wheel they will go on, That way when I get my new tires in a few weeks they are ready.
I had all four in my seat of the car and just did one at a time and besure to mark them. LF/RF-LR/RR
