Default LS1 intake

Ok so I have a ls1 intake and throttle body. With money and power in mind, Would it be better to pay 100$ to have the ls1 polished and ported or find a used ls6 intake and throttle body. I would love to drop a grand and get a fast intake, but with the headers and cam i'm getting, I need to save some money here and there. I've seen used ls6 intakes going for 300-500$ . I want to do something with the cam and headers since I'm getting it dyno tuned also. I'm thinking for now going with the polished route and saving for a fast intake and ls6 heads.

No ported LS1 intake is going to flow as well as an LS6 intake. The LS6 intake is the best bang-for-your-buck intake there is. The FAST intake isn't that much better, to be honest. The FAST will only start to give you small gains above an LS6 with a cam that's more than 'mild'. Engine dyno tests confirmed that just with stock heads/cam, the LS6 intake makes more power. Get into aggressive cams, and you'll start to make more power with the FAST.

Personally, I see no reason to spend that much money on FAST unless you're trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of car that you can. It's a lot of money to spend when you're only going to see about 5-10hp more and considering that 5-10 hp you can hardly feel, it seems like a waste.

Unless you're going with a BIG cam.

I'd say get the LS6 intake. I sold my LS1 intake to a Camaro guy for $100 I think.

Get the LS6 intake. You can find one fairly cheap used and it will give you a nice flow increase compared to the LS1 intake.

LS6 intake on 01+ C5s. Still 241 heads. Z06s got the 243s only. C6 LS2s got similar heads. Same casting but not sodium filled valves.

Ok i thought i was remembering it correctly(LS6 intake) because i have a 04' as for the heads i have to pop the hood and take a look i thought they were 243's but i could definetly be mixing it up w/241's and funny thing i was just looking under the hood a couple weeks ago and saw the #'s stamping
