It looks like it has the pop up plate holder like my car. normally can not see the tag. when you push a button it pops up

um, really? did you make it or buy it? illinois is a front plate state unfortunately.

I'm telling myself they did that just so that it could pass the auction block and it's a double-stick tape and not wood screws or something.

California is too, loosely enforced, and actually they sometimes will give you a verbal on (moderate) speed and write you the $20 fix-it on the plate and they still look like they're doing their jobs on paper. As a result, leaving it off our cars has gotten my wife and I out of a couple tickets (with points)

That is a different way to mount the plate to the car. I think I'll stick with the factory mount method.
