About 3 months ago I ordered a set of new MSD wires from west coast corvette, I changed the plugs to diamond fire while i was at it, had some trouble getting one of the plugs out and back in, but was fairly confident it went in fine after a fight.
The car doesnt get driven much but this has happened twice now...
First time;
Driving along, car starts to run crappy like its mis firing and then solid check engine light. One of the spark plug wires blew into bits, so thats explained, no biggy, easy fix.
Second time;
Driving, get on it in 2nd shift to third and a hickup @ 5k, let off(thinking to self, hmm weird)
Do the same again, hickup in second @ 5K and then hickup in 3rd @ 5k, then flashing check engine light and running like sh**.
Not sure what to do next, checked all the wires again...? thanks for any input guys.
My 06 Zo6 developed a bad miss at high RPM. The Vette tech. called the GM Tech Center and thier response was did the car have aftemarket plugs. If so, replace with OEM plugs. That was not the problem as the car had OEM plugs. What it did have was a bad alternator.

Really an alternator? Ok thank you I'll check that too
