Corvettes have become "in" cars now. A lot of C6's are leased cars leased by ex BMW and MB owners. They know nothing about vetts ( except that the look "cool" if the drive one) much less about the wave.
Its also possable the person you waved to just didn't see your car.
Hell, when I'm in a heated conversation with my wife about how fast I'm going I sometimes just don't see a vett going by - so I don't wave. Don't let a few uneducated apples spoil a good thing - keep the wave going.

Driving has been a "social event" for a long time, however today people are more concerned about talking/texting to pay attention. What happens outside their windshield is pretty low on their list.
Just wave and feel the satisfaction of being the better person, and if you get a wave back feel lucky to have made that brief connection with another traveler!

I wave to all Corvettes regardless of the year of their car. There are cases when I see them too late or something happening that I need my hands on the wheel but those are rare. I've even gotten waves from a few Vipers!

As for your second comment.... this is true, but how far will they get in life with a college degree in basket weaving !!
Bottom line, just wave and if they don't wave back you'll know they're just "CAR OWNERS" and true Corvette enthusiasts !

since the weather is getting better.. more vettes are waving at me.. haha..
if you drive a coupe and have the top off... is it considered a "proper wave" if you stick your hand straight up and wave? ive been getting alot of those lately..

When I retire I am going to buy some white shoes, with a matching white belt, sansabelt pants in plaid of course, and a new Corvette. Then I will move to Florida and flip everyone off.

As a C6 driver who regularly waves to vette drivers of all generations, I think the premise of this thread is way off the mark. In weather were the windows are down or the top is off it is much easier to wave and the wave be seen. Sometimes I miss another vette and fail to wave. Sometimes I don't get a wave back, but I never blame that on whatever generation the other vette driver might have been in.

I went to KC a week ago and was on I70. A vette came came by on the east bound, I was going west, he flashed his lights. But it was a C5.
I flashed my lights while coming back east bound to a C6 going west.
Sucker didn't acknowledge me.
Didn't bother me. Probably didn't see me. Not everyone does. Actually it got old trying to watch the road looking for vettes so I didn't get accused of being a bad boy!
(this is where I would insert an emoticon of someone slapping me on my butt)
