I ordered an iPod kit from DoubleD mods. Today, I finally had time to sit down and install the unit. However, when I got towards the end I realized, I think, that I am missing something. The kit came with two parts - a PXDP box and iPod cable, and a PXHGM2.
In the picture on the site it appears that the cable has another plug which would allow me to plug the factory plug into the PXHGM2 cable, and then plug the new cable into the radio.
I havent dealt with one of these in a long time, but it surely appears its all there. That harness is a T harness, unplug your radio and plug this inline, it should be pretty self explanatory from there. Obviously that big long white plug goes into that box, ipod cable plugs into the box as well.

I would give Dennis a call. Cable 2 and cable 4 are for 2 different installs, One is for the rear of the car when you remove the changer and the other is for the back of the radio, You don't need both.

If you are going to the back of the radio there is an extra spot to plug the adaptor in, You don't have to remove your speaker connection If I remember right.
The factory changer harness plugs into the "2" cable where the changer is. If you do not have a changer, you should have bought the "4" cable that plugs into the back of the factory head unit.

I have no changer.

PS - why did no one tell me about the manual shift ****? Lord what a time.
Did you remove the shift ****? You didn't have to. The leather shift boot just pushes down through the console and stays in place so you can lift off the bezel to get to the radio.
I used that thread as my instructions. However, he does not mention pushing the boot through the console. That would have been REALLY helpful for us C5 newbs. Other than that they are pretty good instructions.

Just use the plug that plugs into the back of the radio's changer spot and there ya go. This is the same concept as my Silverado('03) I didn't have a changer but the plug goes into that spot and just doesn't plug into the changer harness. It should still work just as though you had a changer. Try it i bet it works unless i'm totally missing the issue here which is possible as it's 1:15 in the morning and i'm sick and tired now
