DIC error codes & messages (fixed)..TY CF
The story:
I ignored the warning she was trying to send me. One day the fuel gauge went to empty and I know the tanks weren't empty. And the check traction control message came up. I just pulled over and shut the car off and when I restarted it.....all was fine. So I forgot about it.
A week or so later I was in my little town running errands and then planned on riding to the big city to get other stuff (love finding excuse to drive Vette!). When I came out of store and started Vette I got all sorts of error messages and my windows as well as all driver door controls quit. A/C quit. Radio quit.
Panic mode was setting in.
I read CF all the time and remembered all the crazy stuff that happens when batt voltage gets low. So I went to Autozone and was going to buy battery. Employee is a Vette owner and said I should just clear codes and all would be fine. Hummmmm,,,seems strange that just clearing codes would work. Something had to make the PCM flip out like that I thought.
Not knowing how to clear codes, the guy comes out and shows me how. It works, all systems go.

But by the time he gets out of car and I get in, all systems fail again. Being optimistic and looking for quick fix I bought battery. Been wanting one anyway because I didn't know how old this battery was since it was in car when I bought it. But no luck. All error messages and failures remain.
The car ran fine. So I drove home whimpering, crying and pitching hissey fit because Vette was broke and doomsday scenario about dealership labor charges and new PCM cost was setting in.
So I pulled in garage and since my life was now over as I knew it I planned on hanging myself from rafters. But at the last minute I figured I should at least try and fix it.
I knew this had to be covered at some point here at CF so I did massive searches. I started with the grounds. The one by the battery looked good after removal. I disassembled the muti-ground wire modules on frame behind each headlight. Looked good. Started car and still had same problem. I can't believe how many ground points on this car.

I stopped after checking three and thought I would move on to something else. I sat in car thinking. Painful, but I did it anyway. I reached over and hit passenger side controls and they worked! Hummm, just driver door controls don't work. So I went in that direction. More MASSIVE searches on CF forum. Finally I hit this one that mentioned the wiring harness from the door to the car sometimes chafes.
I run out to car and pull out the accordion tube and the wiring harness and connectors. Start the car and.......PRESTO......everything works.

Sure enough I have bare wire just like the CF thread shows. I taped it up and reinstalled. Went for a 140 mile drive and my life is back to normal.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Corvette Forum and all the great members that contribute information here.
You guys

I have not had anymore problems since I fixed the driver door harness inside the accordian tube.
If I remember correctly, the problem is actually a loose pin inside the connector. Not chaffing like originally thought. Evidently when I pulled the harness out from inside the door and wrapped the connector with tape, that caused the loose pin to make contact again.
It has been working fine so I never pulled it back out and looked for a loose pin.
I sure hope this fixes your problem.
Good luck.
