Guys think a cam swap is the best bang for your buck mod, but the hood seal is worth 50rwhp, is inexpensive, and easier to install than a cam. I say go for it, enjoy the power, and laugh all the way to the bank!
If you are going to add one, go to your local GM/Chevy dealer or preferred contact Gene Cully online and order one of the hood side pieces from him. His prices will be better. It mounts to the side ledge and acts like a flap. Just cut to fit. Look at the factory piece on the sides to see how they attach and function. This way, all three pieces will look factory original. And all three pieces will function the same.
Yes they do work to keep that engine compartment spotless.
Hate to burst any bubbles but all dirt in the engine bay comes from underneath, have you checked your radiator lately! Only thing this seal will keep out is garage dust! On the other hand one can not argue with extra 50+ RWHP, that is why I run two of them

It's on my Performance Mods list right after doing all the other mods and I need that last 50rwhp add. It's gonna be the ONE thing I can point to and say That's what pushed me beyond the sound barrier when all others failed!
Edited, I guess I should preorder that ionized electron flux molecule generator that plugs into the cigarette lighter and increases my gas mileage. Their gonna be sold out soon.

Works for me. Engine bay stays a whole lot cleaner and the hood light which was a constant problem from water getting inside it stopped ever since i installed the seal.

I added one to mine just to keep any water off my Blackwing. Seems to work fine for that. As far as keeping the engine bay cleaner, seems to help but how much is debatable.
Who has honestly wasted money on one of these then?
Well.............I found one in my garage, but I swear to God, I don't ever remember actually spending my hard earned bucks on it. I went back and looked through my receipts (never throw'em out) and sure enough, there it was! $14.59 and 3 c5's ago! Man, I was sure stupid back then. I'm so much smarter now. Hey, that would make a good song!
