Default c5 engines make noise when cold starting

Is it common for the ls1 engines to make a little noise when first starting after sitting for a while I just test drove a 2000 with 35k miles the engine was a little noisy at first but when we came back from a short ride it was fully warmed up and quite . The noise wasnt a knock more like cam bearings maybe??

The noisy LS1 has been discussed here at length......piston slap when cold or valve train (especially w/headers) that goes away when warm does not seem to create any lasting issues......That said, monitoring is always best....GL

I had valve train noise, kinda like a sewing machine on steroids. Switched to Mobil 1 10-40 and noise is all but gone.
