I have an opportunity to purchase an 03 Coupe, 140k mi, 1 owner 80 yr old lady. Carfax shows "minor damage" from wreck in 2008, clear Texas title. What mechanical issues should I expect with this mileage? Is this a good deal?
Carfax is just a company, don't get hung up on it. One of my company's trainers has a car that he has wrecked three times and still shows a clear Carfax.
The Carfax and Autocheck both show a "front end accident" on my car, and it's only due to it rolling into a light poll in neutral. One year of ownership and 30k+ miles so far and no issues at all. Many others would have passed on my car due to such a trivial issue. Again, don't get hung up on the wrong things.
Just use a lil intelligent-sense and evaluate the car yourself, why do you need our approval???
FYI, 140k is not high-mileage for a Gen III engine. Just make sure it drives, handles, and breaks nicely.
Yeah, this carfax craze is getting a bit out of control. Like stated, I've seen carfax's report door dings as accidents and not report cars that were nearly totaled. It's a piece of information, but I don't give it much weight.
If the car was maintained pretty well and the price is right I'd buy it.

03, bought it new and is 80? That would make her 72 when she bought it. I guess I could see her putting 140k on it. Once she was able to get in the car I find it hard to believe she would ever have been able to get out of it.
I'm 43 in in pretty darn good shape. Getting in and out of a vette is not exactly a smooth transition.

At your stated price..........
There was no stated price so hard to tell if it would be a good purchase or not. Hard to believe an 80 year old woman put 140K miles on the car in 7+ years, but I guess anything is possible. If the price was right and the car was properly maintained, it would be worth considering.
For some reason I just can't picture an 80 years old lady driving a vette.Unless it was the Little Old Lady From Passedena. But then people are in good shape these days.
