Default here's what happened

i have a chevy tahoe that i installed an exhaust system on last year. i was curious what the cost would be for a similar one for my c5. i went to a big online company which had a good price and put the item in the cart to see how much shipping would be. JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY. then, later on, my daughter decides to buy something from them, with her mom's permission, and she sees extra items in the cart but does not check with me or even look at the total price.
today i found a big box on the porch. i have to choose between keeping it, selling it or returning it to the vendor (25% restocking fee+handling+shipping). it is the cat back magnaflow system, which is great but i wasn't planning on doing any major upgrades to this car any time soon.

i want to know is it my fault for not taking out of the cart or is it their fault for not looking at the total price? or both? and what should i do?

any thoughts on this?

Well I would have to say it is your fault seeing you added it to the cart and didn't remove when you were done, I would keep it if you can afford it, Why lose 25%?

I think the married guys from forum owe you a debt of gratitude...that could possibly be the best hall pass for an upgrade in the history of hall passes....

"Honest honey, I was just comparison shopping...had no clue she was going to order something too" slide your kid a $20 spot and you have a complaint free upgrade....

Too bad you were not pricing an A&A or ECS kit.....

Should have cleared the cart when you were done. That way no chance for any thing like this happening. But since it did, and you say there is a 25% restocking fee, it's time to put a new exhaust on the car.

So you say you're on a site that sells C5 Exhaust and Your underage daughter just happens to be buying something off the same site and when check out time comes the extra $1000 or so doesn't ring a bell.

Sorry but this story sound a little whack to me.

that is by far the best story i've heard. Gotta use it when i got a kid old enough to order stuff online.

"Honey, *insert child's name* accidentally bought a turbo kit when she was buying her a pair of shoes online. WE MIGHT AS WELL KEEP IT!"

Or you could just tell the wife that you bought an exhaust and it's none of her business.

I do the same thing sometimes and have caught the mistake before checkout more than once. Unfortunatly it is your fault and your Daughters for not properly reviewing your order before paying. Instead of eating 25% I would keep the exhust and install it. Consider it an early Chrismas present and enjoy it. You'll be glad you did!
