Welcome! That's a great price and you've already got a lot of the common A4 mods, I'm sure it's a lot of fun to drive. I definitely recommend driving it for a while and looking at as many other modified C5s as you can before you decide on what to do.
We seem to have very different opinions about what we each percieve as weaknesses in the look, power, handling, sound, etc. of these cars - make sure that you address the ones that are important to you once you figure out what they are.
Yeah im soo iffy on the auto. I like it but ive always rowed gears so its different. I can tell it probably will take a 6 speed from a dig. Launches so clean.
How tough is a 6 speed swap on these? I bought the auto to try something different. So my girlfriend and mom could enjoy it and i thought it would be easier for stop and go car cruises. Im not into auto cross or road racing.
What i like is drag racing, and roll racing (in mexico).
My question is should i even bother or will i just be slowing my self down?
I have gears and stall already and she launches like a dream. I dont think i could do better with a 6 speed.

Stick with the auto. For drag/roll racing you're better off with the auto (particularly with your mods) anyhow, unless you're a pro at drag-racing with a clutch.
I looked into it right after getting the car and having initial buyers-remorse about the A4 and not getting to row gears. What I was told at the transmission specialty shop in town was that I'd be looking at ~$5k with labor and after them buying-back my 8,000 mile A4. You're probably looking at more than that because your A4 has so many miles on it that they probably won't pay much. They also said they couldn't/wouldn't guarantee the fitment of the rest of the driveline until they finished the job and that it might be more if we had to swap things out to get fitment. I was told on this forum that I'd be better off (both total price and build quality) by selling the car and buying one that came with the manual.
Now that I've had the car for a while, I really enjoy it as a cruiser and hardly notice not shifting any more. Plus, now I have a good excuse for getting a C5Z or FRC track toy project.
