I have read on here that you need a special amp to drive those bose speakers after changing the head unit. Do a search.......or i am sure someone will chime in here eveventually.

Best buy charged me $50.00 to do exactly what you want done. Call them to verify there is a device that they have to put in to, to communicate with oem equipment.Good luck

They didnt have a clue what they were doing from the sounds of it
You DO NOT need to upgrade speakers and add amps if you use the correct harness
There is two options
The Pac Audio ROEM-VET1 for 45.00
or
The Metra XSVI-2004 for 90.00
The Metra will retain RAP but this harness I do not recommend as it is a problem child and will cause you issues
The PAC roem-vet1 is the correct harness you need to act as the go between from the Pioneer unit and your Bose speakers
Even if they did install this harness for you(check your bill and see what it shows they used) they install it wrong.
The BLUE WHITE amp trigger wire or Power Cont. wire will need to be connected to the BLUE on the Pac roem-vet1
If you do not do this there is no power sent to front speakers to allow them to work correctly
This link to my website shows the wiring information to for the roem-vet1 harness
http://www.doubledmods.com/Corvette.html
Note
for dimming features as well they should not of connected your dimming wires to the harness they used but to the hvac controls and splice this into the connector. So check this out as well while you go back to them and tell them they install this wrong for you.
If I can help with anymore questions let me know

c5 BearsFan knows his stuff, I installed my Pioneer using his Pac Audio REOM-VET1 and it sounds a lot better than the factory unit did, You don't need special amps, You just need someone that knows what they are doing.

Ok one more question I see there are different models of this pac audio thing online and you guys are calling it reom the one I'm looking at is the roem-vet1.my radio is pioneer 5200 and plays movies, bluetooth, and ipod, its also nav ready but I'm not worried about that is this pac audio part# roem vet1 the one I need for this radio for these options to be functional?also I read that one guy said with the pac the tweeders won"t work but I think he may have been wrong cause I don't think there's even tweeters in the doors of the 01 bose! Just don't want to order the wrong stuff and is that all I need to order?

This is what you need

I have it in stock and can ship tomorrow
This is the only harness I offer in all my kits we sell as it is the best and works the best.
As long as they follow my wiring info and wire it correctly you will have no issues.
