Which one? I just got the electronic speed control one with the digital readout because it came with a foam pad. Seems to work fine and when on lowest setting it ramps up to speed. Got a better foam wheel with a finer foam for finishing work and it fits on the velcro pad perfectly. I think the $29 has a cheaper wheel and no foam pad.

They have 2 models, one with a thumbwheel to adjust the speed and no readout and one that has + and - buttons and a digital readout, that's the one I have.

If you are considering an orbital buffer for paint care, spend a little more and get a PC-CP, Griots Random Orbital, or Megs buffer. They are all great investments for paint care and will help to clean, polish, and wax. Best part they are all bulletproof and will last quite a long time with very little care. Used with the correct pads and polishes and you will find even harder clearcoats like the Vette can be corrected and lots of additional gloss brought out.

I love my Griot's Garage random orbital -- definitely worth every penny of the $129 price - Very well made.
