Default Need help to find a Black Wing adapter

Hello forum members.

I'm in the process of buying a Black Wing from a good friend for my 99 vert. My issue is this: The adapter that hold the filter to the MAF is not there. He had to use it for his Varram system on his 98 coupe. In order for me to install this Black Wing I would need a adapter/coupler from a late model C5 (01 -04). I've called GMpart and they said the part I need has been discontinued and SLP said for me to look for a late model LT1 Camaro and get it from there.

My understanding is the opening on the Blackwing is 4 inch and the opening on the MAF is only 3 /12.

I hate to let this Blackwing go. Maybe somebody has one laying around that they are not using or can give me some ideals on how to make it work.

Thanks in Advance.

go to advance auto or oriellys or autozone or any close chain.

they have adapters in the air cleaner section.

that is where i got mine.

take measurements with you.

it only needs to be 3 or 4 inches long.

it was a black piece that was straight with the correct i.d. and the correct o.d.

if you have a 99 why do you need the part for an 01-04?

i think you need a different piece than what i used on my 01.

regardless go to autozone or advance for one.

Not sure why my car would be different from the late model c5 but from what SLP telling me it is. But I think you found something I maybe able to use. It looks like it would fit but I would be a little worried that the 4" side would fall of the black wing if not secured correctly. If it not on correctly it would cause a vacuum leak and I'll get lean codes. Definitely need to check into this.

Thanks for the great find. I will keep you posted on what they say.
