Default Corsa Touring or Sport for Daily Driver?

I recently installed the Corsa Touring System with the Corsa X-Pipe. Unfortunately, I am unhappy with the results. Though they are bolder than stock, I guess I was really expecting something more aggressive.

I’m thinking of swapping them out for the Sport version, but two things make me wonder if that’s a good idea:

1. My ’04 is my daily driver and after (if?) the novelty wears off, will I grow weary of the more aggressive sound?

2. I live in a quiet bedroom community. While leaving the community during weekday mornings, sometimes I’ve got to get enthusiastic to squeeze between two cars. (OK, I get enthusiastic on the weekends, too.) Is my homeowners’ association going to ask me to lay off the noise?

I guess what I’m asking is: shall I go for the Sports, or stick with the Touring?

Do YOU have Corsa Sports on your Daily Driver?

.

06/02/2011 - UPDATE: I went with the Sport edition and have been very pleased with them. They're quiet when I need them quiet, and loud - well, the rest of the time.

do you have lt headers?

if you have to ask if your vehicle is too loud, it probably is.

I have the Corsa Sport (formerly known as Pace Car) on both of my C5's. My Pace Car has just the system and an X-pipe. My black car has long tube headers as well.....neither is what I would call loud, especially in town at low speed.

They get loud at WOT, but never what I would call too loud.

I also have the Pace Car Corsa's along with an X-pipe on my supercharged C5. As long as you don't go too hard into the throttle, they are quiet but have a nice tone. WOT is very loud. At cruise in 6th gear at 75, I can't really hear them unless I'm along a jersey wall or a truck.

If you don't accelerate using more than something like 15-20% throttle in the neighborhood and shift into a higher gear, you should not have issues. Just drive easy. "spirited" driving in the neighborhood just causes problems.

I have LT's and the pace car system (on a blown 346) and even starting my car up it's loud as hell! I almost failed a tracks noise restrictions at idle (and that's supposed to be 1500rpm under redline). I'm happy with my set up because it's my weekend toy, if I was starting the car up every morning I'm sure my neigbours would get pretty ticked off in a hurry.

Go for the best of both worlds and install a set of cut outs.

I don't run headers but I have the X-pipe with Corsa Xtremes. I love them. They are only loud when you get heavy into the throttle and in normal driving will not disturb those around you (I live in a quiet community). In the lower rpm range they are fine and have zero drone while cruising at highway speeds.

I have Corsa Indys on my car - they sound great, but when you go WOT, you can hear them for quite a distance. However, they don't seem to make the Indy system any more - but I would guess the Pace Car is similar. Anyway, no drone or popping with this system.

As far as the HOA goes, that will depend totally on how picky they are on noise levels.

Jack - the Pace Car system, Indy and Sport are all the same systems. Corsa has begun referring to the formerly known as Indy Pace Car system as the Sport system to align the names with the C6 offerings.

The "sport" or "pace car" system would be just fine for a DD. Not that much louder than stock unless you put your foot into a lot and even then it not that obnoxious inside the car.

I recently had the Corsa pace/sport exhaust put on w/x pipe no headers. It's a little louder then stock at idle a normal driving. At WOT it's got a nice tone to it and louder then stock. I would have gone with the extreme or Borla because I like it loud but my wife drives the car every now and then and she didn't want it that loud.

She approves the sound of the Corsa pace/sport exhaust system. If that helps.

Default Corsa "pace car" exhaust ?

Last year I was debating on which cat back exhaust to buy. I listened to all of them from Brola to billy boat-system none of them sound too loud fro my taste, so I decided on the Corsa "touring" system and contacted James T. at County Corvette Inc. He was very helpful and we talked for close to an hour about it. He finally had me sold on the Corsa "Pace Car" system and that was the best decisions I ever made. Corsa has a system called the "Touring System" but that system is so close to my stock system sounds it just doesn't do much for me. I drive a Corvette and I want something that would take me back 30 years with my 1961 Chevy Belair I had a 283 and duel exhaust with "Glaspacks on it. It was a great time of my life. Shortly there after I sold the Belair and bought my first Corvette, a 1959 roadster. What a car ! I won't bore you with the details, but that was the best summer of my life.

Same here. I purchased my Corsa Indy Pace Car/Pro Tip package in 04 and was the first mod I performed on my then (new) 2004 vert. At the time I was considering Borlas, however the performance shop talked me into the Corsa because of the lower idle drone and the fact the Corsa exhaust would not void the GM warranty.

Years later, I am still very happy with the system. It has a nice low key rumble that should not be a problem cruising through your neighborhood, however when you do hit it, you know it!

Corsa Indy Pace Car/Pro Tip with Corsa X-pipe. Neighbor friendly at low rpm's and sounds great above 3500 rpm's.

Very happy after 8 years of use......

Default decision

As the OP, I'd like to update this post. The question was, should I switch to the Corsa Sport or keep my new Corsa Touring?

Well, tonight I had the good fortune of having the opportunity to experience the Sport edition. A member of my Corvette club, Corvettes International, had just installed a Sport on his C6.

The ride-along made my decision a lot easier.

I'm going to switch to the Sport.
