Default C5- When does your clutch catch?

I've searched this forum but couldn't find the answer.

I was driving my car the other day and noticed the clutch wasn't catching until it about about 3/4 of the way off the floor. It seems like it's catching when the pedal is almost all the way de-pressed.

When does your clutch catch?

Is this normal?

Is it time to adjust something or am I looking at replacing parts of the clutch or pressure plate?

Thanks

There is no adjustment on the standard setup.
It's self adjusting - until there is no adjustment left.

Mine has about 1" free play at the top and it starts grabbing 1/2 way up.

I'd say mine grabs about 75% up from the floor......which I like as not too much travel time to shift...

Mine engages almost immediately, very smooth. ~60k miles.

I just replaced mine with the LS7 clutch and its engaging about 1" off the floor. I don't like it as such but it engages really strong.

that's also a pretty good description of my clutch action also. mine is an 04 with just a shade over 30k on the clock

i heard this was very common with the LS7 clutch. this is why i decided to go with the LS6 when i replace my stock one. also wasnt a fan of the weight of the ls7.

Btw my stock ls1 clutch with 131k miles that is starting to slip at wot shifts grabs about halfway through the stroke of the clutch pedal.
