Per the factory service manual, it is 4 N m or 35 lb in.

Are we are both speaking of the pressure sensors inside the wheels? The 2001 manual I have states:

Install the sensor nut and position the sensor body parallel to the inside wheel surface while torquing. Tighten
Tighten the nut to 7 N·m (62 lb in).
(12 N·m (106 lb in) on 2000 and lower).

Wow. I didn't know there was a specific torque to tighten them to.
I just tighten mine so they wouldn't leak. No problems since.

I can't believe the nut that holds the sensor on could be tightened to 62 in. lbs with out striping. 35 in. lbs. sounds more right but if the 2001 service manual says so I guess I will try it. Anyone else know if this is correct?

that's INCH pounds NOT foot pounds!! Big difference

You need an inch pound torque wrench...
