Default Florida car storage

I need to store the vette while I am in the desert. Garage is full with my two classic cars and I don't want the C5 outside for 6 months and not be driven. Does anyone know of any S Florida/Space Coast/Cocoa Beach area indoor car storage places?

Depending on your existing garage, you may want to invest in a 4-post lift for extra storage considering an auto rental storage facility would probably cost about the same over the term of the rental agreement.

There are storage garages at most of the major urban self-storage companies so I would check those out. Also, some performance shops rent space depending on their facility. A friend of mine rented space for his 69 Camaro at the performance shop where he was modifying it.

I'd have to find one that's climate controlled. At least in the summer.

Why does it need a climate controlled storage facility? It sits in the driveway all day every day when I am home.

Can't help you out in finding a storage space for the car, but if you are not familiar with proper storage methods, I have a few files on storage that was posted here on the forum. If you'd like a copy, PM me your e-mail address.

Not an expert but if the car is sitting in a storage facility in South Florida during the summer the inside temperature must get really hot? When a car sits things dry out and if it is sitting for months in a really hot storage container I would think that the drying out process would be even quicker. Also, consider the havoc the heat and humidity could play with your tires and interior.
Just a thought.

OP - It's your car but how long would you last in enclosed storage w/o A/C in FL summer heat? Or, why then bother to put it in storage at all? Why not just put a cover on it? I've been in attached garages that mimic attic temps.

Whatever you decide protect your fuel system w/fuel stabilizer.

I just dont want to worry about it getting totaled in a hurricane while I am gone. Id put it in my garage now but there is no way I am moving the 72 BB vert out and there is no way the wife is going to let me move her 68 mustang out so that leave me either putting a cover on it for 6 months and hoping a hurricane doesnt put a tree on it or finding a roof to put it under. Id love to find a climate controlled place to put it but considering it sits outside, i would think getting it in out of the sun even in a non climate controlled is better than what it goes through now.

If you can't find results in yellow pages I'd try posting in Regional/SE forum. Also locate your nearest vette club. Just ask if anyone has room for it.

Check with your neighbors or a local Corvette Club. Someone may have some extra garage room they are willing to rent where you can hook it up to a battery tender and throw a cover on it.

Yeah check with Cape Kennedy Corvette club as well ask one of those storage space operators if they allow vehicle to be stored there. Many of them are AC controlled.

Another option, albeit not AC controlled would be to rent hangar space at the small local airports (MI or TICO), or a boat storage place.

What size is your garage? Mine is 28 wide and 24 deep and I get three cars in there with room to drive one of them in and out regularly. I put the 72 on some car dollies and push it into the back left corner then there is room next to it for another.

After the last space shuttle leaves you could rent that hanger space. The electric bill would kill ya though.

I'm eyeballing that tractor...Add some HID/LEDs, some CCWs, grill screens, VE leather seat and maybe even a Caravaggio rear deck lid spoiler! Love the mod green & yellow!

With 365 feet of drive way, it gets the job done.

I have a picture somewhere, with the 72, 76, 04 and the tractor in that garage and I could still drive the 04 in and out.

I wonder what it would cost to leave it at Port Canaveral parking garage for that period. Good security,,, Semi-inside.......

Hmmmmm
