I think you are referring to what they call side spears. I have them with the mesh covers over the opening. I really like the looks of these. Prior owner put them on so no $$ for me.

Obviously I am not a fan of C5's without BSMs on them why not get the stereo delete too? I like all the options available on my cars and they do serve a purpose I have touched them up enough to think what would have happened to the paint without them.
Please name 3 cars that these BSM's sort of align with to be functional.

I like the look of the BSM's!!

I think they add to the look of my ZO6 or any vette for that matter. It breaks up the smoothness of the sides. For each his own I guess.

The first part was a joke

The functional part concerns the dings they have protected the door from If had seen the cars I would tell you what they were. Maybe it was a ding monster just picking on my car I can tell you my son's Firebird is one of them

I have seen very few too. Before I got my Vette my F-150 was getting a lot of door-dings too. I figured out it was my girlfriends car doing it on the garage. Once in a while I miss her.

I'd take 'em off and put them above the brake ducts in front of the back wheels.

I have used a good amount of touch up paint on mine so the damn things work. Count me among the BSM fans!!

If anyone has a no damage set that happens to be NBM let me know! I would replace mine to get rid of a lot of the dings.

I love mine, since it's a DD I like the added protection! Plus with the new spoiler, I like the flow. L8R ZFLASH

Don't bother with the chrome trim, install a grill in there. They are usually around $100 if you want to buy them or if you're like me you could make your own out of gutter guard from home depot ($2.80) and some enamal to protect it. I actually just finished mine today so I will be posting up pictures tomorrow when the sun is out so be on the look out for a thread.

So after reading about this yesterday I decided that today I would rip off my BSMs. After a few hours and some very sore thumbs I was done. I don't know how I feel about this; it does look cleaner but the door looks kind of naked to me, like it needs something there. I'm thinking this is just me not being used to the new look. Hopefully I will become a strong believer in not having BSMs soon.
