1-3/4 on a 408ci.
My tuner said I'd get better throttle response with the 1-3/4 and not loose much if anything hp wise as opposed to the 1-7/8.

I also notice your primaries seem to be straighter (less bends) than others.
X-Pipe location is based on fit to the vehicle and also relative to the primary length. When we design our headers, one of our goals is to create a header that fits the vehicle properly and also one that makes good usable power. Keeping the bends to a minimum allows for a greater flow velocity which helps gain the performance we are all looking for.

Just got these installed and tuned on Wednesday. With the tune and 1 7/8" my first pull I made almost 40 MORE RWHP. Yes 40. After a few pulls and it being almost 100F in the dyno building I made 31rwhp and 30 something torque. I went from 310 to 349 then to 341 after heat soaking the car. Dyno sheets and vids hopefully tommorow. Screw 1 /3/4" lol the car pulls and feels fantastic. We are at 5600ft above sea level and our DA is usually in the 8k range let's see what she does at the track. My best was 13.8@103 with just intake, exhaust and ported TB.

Good gains on power! These LS motors are so responsive to simple upgrades. I can't wait to see a video!

How was the install?

Great minus all the piping/slip fits that was a pain to get lined up. I'm just afraid of all the clamps that it will leak out. Why so many slip fits? Why not one big xpipe then a mid pipe for cats? Other then that great stuff. I did a review on it in tech

The slip fits are for ease of installation. Some of our race oriented customers will weld these pieces together. Its all personal preference.

Leaks are typically an issue of the past. The clamps we provide work very well. If there is an issue with leaking, use some hi-temp silicone between the connection points if you haven't already. You shouldn't have any problems.

I'd be in for a Group Buy... I was going to go 1 3/4" but after reading this thread, I might change to 1 7/8". My car will just have Blackwing, Headers, and a Dyno Tune for now. Will I lose low end with 1 7/8"?

Go 1 7/8" I'm to lazy to find the thread but Texas Speed did a comparison to the 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8" the 1 7/8 made more power and didn't loose any in lower end vs the 1 3/4. Just a myth kinda thing. You pay alot more for 1 7/8 for a few more horses then 1 3/4 on stock motor, BUT if your like me I'm thinking about future plans. I know I'm going to go with F/I next year and I didn't want to be one of those guys who buys 1 3/4 then after they go F/I or bigger cube motor they have to take them off and sell them and buy the bigger ones and install them again. Most bolt on ls1 vettes make around 330-340 with 1 3/4 from what I seen. I made 340-350 and I have a great setup for when I go F/I. You can't really go wrong with either or but to me I want my car to breathe and flow as best as possible and leave nothing on the table for when I go bigger but that's just me. Good luck

I've been doing some research.

I've been thinking about these two StainlessWorks products...

1.) 7/8" 2001-2004 C5 Corvette headers and 3" center section with x pipe and high flow converters.
Part No. C5LS103ORBT

2.)
97-2004 Turbo Muffler Axle-Back. CNC MANDREL BENT 3" 304 S/S. CAT BACK EXHAUST

This is one of the best sounding C5s I've heard IMO. Awesome !

I sure wish I could get an awesome price on both items.
Hint Hint Stainless Works... LOL

Here's a vendor on Corvette Forums offering SW products.

Confused here: Are you saying that adding long tube headers only results in a gain of 7 rwhp.?

Please explain; thank you.
