Default Vent Master

Has anybody used a vent master on a coupe. It holds the back hatch open a little so its not so windy in the cabin with the targa top off. Let me know thanks

I have them. They work just OK - there's still turbulence in the cabin. I have the soft cargo cover in place and it blows all over when I use the hatch vent. They do allow you to vent the car while parked and still lock it up and set the alarm. If they were less $$ they may be a better value for what you get.

They do still allow some turbulence in the cabin, but they also
relieve the air pressure, which allows air to flow through more freely. A bit pricey, but you can find them used for less.

I had some with my 98 coupe, I don't have them for my 04, didn't notice enough difference with them or without them.

I have been wondering the same thing, been looking at these but curious as to whether they really made a difference. Guess I'll pass.

I had them for my 96, 01 and now my 02. Hate the price of them, but you don't often find them in the forsale section for a reason. I think they work very well. The wife is much happier with the roof off when they are on due to her hair blowing around less.

I've got a brand new pair I bought for when I had a '98, then sold the car for my Z06 so they are brand new still in the package. PM me if you're interested, I'll sell them cheap.

I posted a thread recently asking about them too. A forum member was nice enough to ship me his that he wasn't using. The weather hasn't been too cooperative yet but I did install them to see how it looked. All I can say is that it is a very strange look seeing the hatch propped up 2-2.5 inches like that. Not sure I like it but maybe I will get over the cosmetics of it if they function well.

I believe the 97/98 ventmasters are unique they changed the latches after those years. Won't fit your 2000 Correct me if I am wrong.

Correct. The 97/98 ones are different from the 99-04.

That would trigger the hatch ajar indicator where the Vent Master hooks right into the factory latch and will not.

WCC has a set listed for 97-04? However, Ventmasters website has one for yrs 97-98 and another for 99-04. What about exhaust fumes being sucked back into the car?

As I said the latches are different so are the Ventmasters to accomodate them. 97-98 ,99-04. there is no universal as far as I know. Sometimes you get a wiff but you get that sitting at a light if at all and it could happen with just your windows down if the wind is right. No biggie.
